Meet The Founder
DANIEL WERNER has been an A&R (Artist and Repertoire) executive for the past 20 years. His experience crosses many genres, from pop and electronic to indie, singer-songwriters and R&B. After starting his music career as a club DJ in Seattle and working on the programming team at iHeart’s flagship pop radio station KIIS-FM in LA, he joined the A&R team at Sony in 2005, learning the art of record-making by working with artists as diverse as Cyndi Lauper, Jennifer Lopez and The Gossip.
In 2009 he moved to Island Records (Universal Music Group), focusing on international A&R and using his relationships in the creative community to help new global artists make world-class music and chart a course for US success. In that role, he signed and helped launch the US careers of Taio Cruz, Tove Lo, Dean Lewis, Astrid S., Avicii and The Beaches, among others, leading to numerous US top 5 singles and platinum albums.
He left Island as VP of A&R in 2021 to launch his own consulting firm, Brave Industries, as a new way of working with independent artists as well as clients like Arista (Sony US), ADA Distribution (Warner) and UMG Scandinavia. His core mission remains identifying and helping exceptional artists break down barriers to global success through memorable music and modern artist development.
